Dolly Mixture

Saudi Arabia isn’t renowned for its cutting-edge fashion. So Dalia Darwish, better known as Dolly, her childhood nickname, is something of a pioneer. Based in Jeddah, she used her background as a graphic designer to launch the Dolly label, which was inspired by her travels in Europe and her passion for vintage clothing.

Her designs are modern and colourful, yet traditional.

Her floor-length jilbabs are hand made with the finest fabrics and, in some cases, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Dalia also makes iconic “I Love Jeddah” T-shirts and kitschy jewellery made out of seemingly unglamorous items such as toy cars and packets of mixed nuts.
